By James Capell-Abra, Stress Matters:

In pre-pandemic world, a third of business owners reveal that their relationships with their partner (38 per cent) and children (30 per cent) have suffered as a result of running a company. The majority of you will sometimes ‘wish you were doing something else’ (71 per cent). This love-hate relationship with your company is probably being tested quite a lot at the moment.

But the truth is, you can’t control this situation. However good a leader you are, you are not in control of these outside influences. If you can, then get on the phone to Boris pronto for all our sakes!

So what? you might say, but how about if we tell you that the financial consequence of your poor wellbeing might be having a big impact on your bottom line? To the tune of over £1,000 per person. That is a big chunk of money however many people you work with.

Get in touch to find out how this breaks down for your business but it’s generally made up of sick days, quality of work, troubled relationships, leaving roles, recruitment and training costs plus a few more things too. All things that sneak easily into your annual budget without a second thought.

The solution, look after your wellbeing and it will directly impact the financial success of your company. In January this year, Deloitte found that for every £1 spent by employers on mental health interventions they get £5 back in reduced absence, presenteeism and staff turnover.

We truly believe that Success doesn’t have to be Stressful.
