The British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom Installation held its annual stakeholder event yesterday, attended by members, retail partners and associates.

The event focussed on the organisation’s development throughout 2017 and provided insight in to it’s plans for the year ahead.

Its main focus was around it’s work on a KBB apprenticeship for installers, where it announced that its own Centre of Excellence will be opening in September this year.

CEO Damian Walters also announced new corporate sponsorship from industry giant Häfele, representatives of which were attending the event.
Additionally and in response to industry challenges around insurance, BiKBBI took the opportunity to launch a new Insurance Service at the event, for it’s installer, retail and corporate members.

The new insurance scheme will provide members with access to specialist trade and personal insurance products that have been tailored specifically for their unique needs.

CEO Damian Walters said “ Whilst the industry and indeed the UK face challenges around the uncertainty of Brexit and subsequent economic unknowns, and our very own challenge around a widening skills gap and general short fall of professional installers, I see only opportunity if we work together in innovative ways”.

BiKBBI Brand Ambassador Angela Smith shared some impressive numbers around membership growth, now in excess of 5,500 businesses, and their social media growth and new digital strategy.
